There was a smell coming from unit 4C. Brimstone. That’s why Marisol required wizards to have extra renter’s insurance.
She entered the unit, keys jingling, clipboard ready. Logged the candles, scorch ring, ritual circle, and checked the box next to “demon still present.”
The tenant lay nearby, split in two, cut clean from crown to groin.
There was a typewriter. Black, inlaid with blood red sigils, keys of etched bone. A scroll still curled in the platen.
She read the last line and turned to the demon. “Serve,” she said. “Not sever.”
The demon shrugged, a sword behind its back.

😂😂😂 so funny it was worth a subscribe. Awesome! This would be hard to beat.
This really is excellent, given those prompts. Masterclass in precision and economy.
