Magic Junkies is a dark ensemble fantasy about a group of broken, funny, dangerous magic addicts trying to get better in a world that keeps making that harder. There’s Ronnie, a soft-hearted necromancer who sneezed himself out of his body and found something terrible waiting in the dark. Tess, a whose compassion leads her down paths dark enough to frighten the people who trained her. Barnabas, a mortician who gives funerary rites to the forgotten dead because someone has to. Jerry, a willcaster held together by spite and ten thousand daily steps. Diane, whose husband sits quietly by the door waiting for instructions he is no longer capable of refusing. And Caleb, the new kid with power he doesn’t know what to do with and secrets he should have shared sooner.
They are not heroes. They are addicts, former killers, people with complicated histories and worse judgment, trying to do the right thing on a night when the right thing keeps changing. Some of them won’t make it.
But they show up. And sometimes that’s enough.
